PROGRAMME INTRODUCTION

In this Autumn time, the sky is blue and the trees are still green. The air is crisp and the sun shines gently. It's the best season for hiking.

What's more, we put hiking together with speaking English – thus the title "Walk'n Talk". It is sure to be really fun to talk in a second language while we are walking surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature. In order to make the very best use of this opportunity and to have a very fruitful day, you need to browse through this site and get prepared!

ABOUT WALK'n TALK

Dear all trail talkers

Walk'n Talk: Eco-English Hiking at Tai Lam Chung Reservoir ( 6 Nov 2005 )

The theme of this eco-English hiking activity is "Rediscovering the Beauty and the History of Hong Kong". It is part of the joint initiative of Swire Coca-Cola HK-Bonaqua, Care Action, life.mingpao.com and our i-Learner programme to promote English learning and arouse consciousness of and interest in the natural beauty and vulnerability as well as the history of our home – Hong Kong.

As indicated by its title, this activity is basically a walk and talk English learning activity in which English-speaking volunteers will walk and talk with student participants throughout the trip. It should be a very intensive while relaxed and informal learning experience. A ll participants will speak up in English throughout the trip. Student participants can also join the post-hiking activities like entering the writing competitions and writing for the Walk'n Talk website. They will also receive certificates of merit and gift packs from Bonaqua and i-Learner.

We believe this activity will serve as a good opportunity for students to learn English while cultivating a sense of belonging to Hong Kong and understanding and appreciating more about our home. It will be good chances for all to enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable hiking day.

Thank you for participat ing in this meaningful activity. Let's enjoy it!
