Walk'n Talk: Eco-English Hiking at Tai Lam Chung Reservoir ( 6 Nov 2005 ) The theme of this eco-English hiking activity is "Rediscovering the Beauty and the History of Hong Kong". It is part of the joint initiative of Swire Coca-Cola HK-Bonaqua, Care Action, life.mingpao.com and our i-Learner programme to promote English learning and arouse consciousness of and interest in the natural beauty and vulnerability as well as the history of our home – Hong Kong. As indicated by its title, this activity is basically a walk and talk English learning activity in which English-speaking volunteers will walk and talk with student participants throughout the trip. It should be a very intensive while relaxed and informal learning experience. A ll participants will speak up in English throughout the trip. Student participants can also join the post-hiking activities like entering the writing competitions and writing for the Walk'n Talk website. They will also receive certificates of merit and gift packs from Bonaqua and i-Learner. We believe this activity will serve as a good opportunity for students to learn English while cultivating a sense of belonging to Hong Kong and understanding and appreciating more about our home.
